It makes me happy when our products are delivered to overseas clients successfully.
I work in the back-office department for international sales. Our main work involves arranging orders from overseas clients, giving shipping instructions to the factories, and ensuring that the finished products are delivered to overseas clients. Different from sales in Japan, we need to deal with diverse work such as customs procedure, carrier selection, and tasks relating insurance to deliver the products to overseas clients. For example, we need to decide whether the products should be transported by air or by sea depending on their delivery date and weight. The job is often difficult since we are required to make decisions.
Cooperation with those inside and outside company motivates me.
Although I think of and decide the best way for shipping on my own, cooperation with those inside and outside company is indispensable. There are a lot of occasions when we work together with the subcontractors, and the coworkers in sales and in the factories. Those occasions highly motivate me. Even though we rarely receive words of appreciation directly from our clients as the sales workers do, it makes me happy when documents I have created in cooperation with others are able to pass through customs, and our products are delivered to overseas clients successfully.
I started from scratch without knowledge.
When I just entered KURODA, I had no expertise knowledge of trade, which is necessary for the jobs in Sales Operations. So, it was truly a start from scratch. In the beginning, I was not able to understand the contents of custom documents, which was entirely written in English, at all. It was also difficult to remember the terminology. Now, I can gradually remember such knowledge by getting instructions from my senior colleagues and my boss, and learning by myself. It is hard, but many are friendly so I feel at ease working.
I was attracted to the working environment and the atmosphere of the employees.
I entered because I felt the atmosphere of KURODA best suited me. When I once visited the office before joining, I was impressed by its peaceful atmosphere and that employees greeted me politely when we passed each other. I felt firstly that the employees seemed to be calm and nice people to work with. Since I saw that every employee enjoyed their work harmoniously, I decided to enter KURODA.
Someone who can communicate honestly without hesitating too much.
If you do not have any expertise knowledge in the beginning, your senior colleagues will teach you cordially as they did for me. So, I now try to ask them as honestly as possible when I need help or have questions. Similarly, I would like to work with those who are so friendly that I can talk to freely: those who can sometimes enjoy jokes together. I think it will be fun to work with someone who communicate with others without hesitating too much.

One year and a half have passed since I entered KURODA. I feel that the company has the environment encouraging the employees to challenge and grow while it also has the friendly and at-home atmosphere. The senior colleagues teach you how to work with care. Additionally, if you actively ask them and gain various skills, you can grow more and more. In Sales Operations Department, everyone’s opinions aimed to improve the situation are respected regardless of age when we have meetings.
