How to hold the inspection plug when inspecting thread ring gauges

According to the limit gauge for metric threads (ISO grade, JIS B 0251), three types of inspection plugs are specified for go and no go.

Generally, thread ring gauges are inspected with GO and NO GO inspection plugs when newly manufactured, and then periodically with wear inspection plugs to check that the wear limit has not been exceeded.

From the above, when carrying out regular inspections of thread ring gauges, it is effective to have wear inspection plugs that can be used to confirm that the wear limit has not been exceeded. If there is concern that the effective diameter of the thread ring gauge may become smaller due to plating of the male thread adhering to the thread ring gauge, it is also effective to have a go inspection plug and carry it for inspection.
